BarkstopCD Dog Training CDThe BarkStopCD© Disc contains 4 audio tracks that can be played in a standard CD player..
The first 3 tracks are ultra-sonic (17kHz, 18kHz, and 19kHz) and cannot be heard by most humans. The fourth track is an audible tone (2kHz) for setting desired volume level. These ultra-sonic tones are very annoying to dogs. Using your stereo or boom-box, you can give the offending dog a short correction whenever he/she barks. The dog will soon make the association that barking is not an acceptable behavior.
Instructions:
1. Position your speaker(s) so that the offending dog can hear it.
2. Use Track 4 to set desired volume. It should be loud enough to be annoying but within the safe operating range of your speakers.
3. When the offending dog barks, play tracks 1,2, or 3 for 5-10 seconds or until the dog stops barking.
4. Each time the dog barks repeat step 3.
It is important to only play the tone when the dog barks and to stop playing the tone a few seconds after the dog stops barking. This way the dog will soon make the association between the annoying sound and his barking. Experiment with the 3 ultra-sonic tones to see which is most effective for your situation. Using your “Pause” button instead of the “Stop” botton will make your CD player engage faster each time you want to play the tone. As with all training, consistency is very important.
High frequency sounds are very directional so it is important that the speaker be aimed toward the barking dog as much as possible.
